I think that both SpringChick and Funhog have touched on a trend that many people on the talklist find irritating. I know that I personally enjoy boxing reports that people post that include unusual events, such as first finds, excellent stamps or clues, different flora or fauna, surprise meetings, etc.

However, if the 1200+ people on the list decided to give a status report on every box they find the postings would become unmanageable and boring. In addition, there are many on the list who feel like too much information on certain boxes detracts from the experience.

My 2c,
Trish

i thought that was the intent of putting the state in the subject heading.
i simply bypass all the *sitreps* on states that do not concern me. i do
find it valuable and interesting, however, to read about the ones in my area
or in areas to which i will be traveling. we are going to southern IL in a
few weeks and because of updates read here we know which boxes we can work
into our tight schedule and which to avoid!
